AskCUE PI is a good example of claimants & insurers working together to combat fraud. The efforts put in by Claimant representatives to achieve access to the system meant that we were all excited for the system to go live & looking forward to a slick process that would help to weed out fraudsters. After all, it took nearly 4 years to negotiate.

In an attempt to prevent fraudulent claims entering the compensation process, representatives from claimant solicitor organisations and the insurance industry have collaborated to establish the askCUE PI (personal injury) service. The service will be mandatory to use from 1 June 2015.

The cost of motor PI claims fell by 33% during 2013, from £354m to £238m according to a report from the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, showing that legal changes, most notably changes to the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment Offenders Act are having the desired impact on motor insurance injury claims, but insurers are still calling for further action to tackle the compensation culture.
