Firm Fundraising

Firm Fundraising raises money throughout the year for different causes through coffee mornings and cake sales which all staff get involved in… we love our cakes! Our ladies are involved every year in the Race for Life events that take place up and down the country and our gentlemen are involved in the more leisurely pursuit of golf with a fundraising golf day each year.

Race for Life 2017

For 16 years our ladies have participated in our local Race for Life events and this year we will continue to participate in events across the country.


IT'S A KNOCKOUT

A team of people from Carpenters took part in the Wirral Hospice St John's organised event - 'It's a Knockout' to help raised money for patients with life-limiting illnesses.


ENGLISH 3000S MOUNTAIN CHALLENGE

Four nominated people from Carpenters took part and supported RSA's Motability in their annual fundraising challenge. For 2016 the team took on the English 3000 Mountain Challenge, to help raise funds for disabled people in the UK to allow them to enjoy levels of freedom and independence by leasing them a suitable and affordable car, powered wheelchair or scooter.


JACK HUSSEY

A local lad called Jack Hussey aged 19, was unfortunately diagnosed with a soft tissue sarcoma and was told the doctors were unable to cure him. Sarcoma is a rare type of cancer but affects many teenagers. Jack was determined to help research into Sarcoma and set up a Just Giving page to help raise as much money possible to help the research.


RACE FOR LIFE 2016

For 15 years our ladies have participated in our local Race for Life events and it is a cause very dear to our hearts. This year we signed up for 5 Race for Life events including Liverpool's Pretty Muddy event!


DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

For the 5th year Carpenters have organised the Headway Wirral Dragon Boat Festival in support of Headway Wirral, providing support to a person suffering from an acquired a brain injury, along with their families and carers.


Carpenters Annual Charity Football Match for Cancer Research UK

Each year people from Carpenters participate in an Annual Charity Football Match raising money for nominated charities, this year we supported Cancer Research UK.


Macmillan Coffee Morning

Each year Carpenters host a coffee morning but this year each of our regional offices got involved to host their own. The 4 coffee mornings were hugely successful and proved what we already knew, we love cake!


Race for Life 2015

For 14 years our ladies have participated in our local Race for Life events and this year alone we signed up for 4, including the new Pretty Muddy event!


Liverpool Legal Walk

This has been our second year participating in the Liverpool Legal Walk and it’s a cause very dear to our hearts.


Macmillan Coffee Morning

Each year Carpenters participate in the Macmillan Coffee Morning helping to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support to make sure no one has to face cancer alone, from the moment they are diagnosed, through to treatment and beyond.


Individual Fundraising

Individual Fundraising is supported and sponsored by the company as our staff involve themselves in a number of amazing and challenging (and sometimes ridiculous!) events to raise money for both their own charity and the firms chosen charities.

Golf Day to support Headway Wirral

Some of our gentlemen organise a Golf Day each year to raise money for a nominated charity and this year the participants were able to raise £380.00 for Headway Wirral.


Donations to support Ellie’s Campaign

When one of our team asked for support for Ellie’s Campaign everyone rallied and we topped up the donations to £200.


Monthly Civvies Day

Monthly Civvies Day raises money for a different charity every month which are nominated by our staff and everyone gets involved making a donation to wear their own clothes and taking part in a raffle. Recent causes we have supported are:

October 2016 - Stand Up To Cancer

Stand Up To Cancer is a charitable program of the Entertainment Industry Foundation. SU2C aims to raise significant funds for translational cancer research through online and televised efforts. The money raised helped Cancer Research by funding research to help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.


September 2016 - Alzheimers Society

Dementia can happen to anyone and there's currently no cure. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK and this number is predicted to rise to 1 million by 2021. At the Alzheimer's Society, they passionately believe that life doesn't end when dementia begins. They are there for anyone affected by dementia, and will do everything they can to keep people with dementia connected to their lives and the people who matter most.


August 2016 - Neuroblastoma UK Charity

Neuroblastoma is an aggressive childhood cancer. Neautoblastoma UK relies entirely on the generosity of voluntary donors - individuals, companies and trusts - to continually fund new research projects to produce new and better treatments in order to save more children's lives.

Cancer Research is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research, who have saved millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.


June 2016 - Cystic Fibrosis Trust

Cystic Fibrosis Trust is a national charity in the United Kingdom which funds research into the disease and provides information and support for patients and families.


May 2016 - The Brain Tumor Charity

The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain cancer and helps the lives of people with a brain tumour and their families.


April 2016 - Wirral Hospice St Johns

Wirral Hospice St John’s provides free care and support to adults with life-limiting illnesses, including cancer, heart, liver and kidney disease, respiratory and neurological conditions. Along with providing support to families and carers. It costs more than £3.5million a year to run the Hospice, some of which is funded by NHS grants but the majority is donated through individuals, community groups, local companies and charitable trust.

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity support over 25% of the 6,000 families in the UK who have a child aged between 0-18 years of age with a life threatening or terminal illness and need the bespoke support Rainbow Trust are able to provide, for the whole family.


February 2016 - Wirral's Homeless

Wirral's Homeless is a social media group aimed to raise awareness for the plight of the homeless across Wirral and help provide much needed support.


January 2016 - Clatterbridge Cancer Centre

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is one of the largest cancer centres in the country, bringing together high-quality clinical services, research and academic excellence to drive forward the development of new leading edge drugs and therapies and provide the best specialist care for patients.


December 2015 - Homeless Breakfast Group

'Yummy's Cafe' owner served free English breakfasts to homeless people across Liverpool on Christmas day. They wanted to raise money to provide essential items to the homeless.


November 2015 - Male Cancer

Male Cancer Awareness Campaign (MCAC) are a young and innovative charity committed to raising awareness of Male Cancers. They aim to educate men and their partners the importance of early detection.


October 2015 - Rainbow Trust

Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity support over 25% of the 6,000 families in the UK who have a child aged between 0-18 years of age with a life threatening or terminal illness and need the bespoke support Rainbow Trust are able to provide, for the whole family.


September 2015 – Zoe’s Place

Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice provides ‘home from home’ environments for babies and infants aged from birth to five years who have life limiting or life threatening conditions.


August 2015 – Royal Marsden Cancer Charity

Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is world-leading cancer centre pioneering new treatments to save lives and investing in a future beyond cancer for everyone.

North West Cancer Research is one of the biggest and most successful cancer research charities in the UK and currently funds research at Universities of Liverpool, Lancaster and Bangor.
